Best PlayStation VR Games You Must Give a Try
In the immersive world of PlayStation VR games, virtual reality meets cutting-edge gaming experiences. VR games offer diverse adventures, from heart-pounding action to mind-bending puzzles (and everything in between 🙂).
VR gaming was a life-changing experience for me. I was amazed by the technology, and more than once, I loudly said, “No ***** way…”. It brought back childhood dreams of immersing myself in a game and living in a reality that everything is possible. No matter how much I describe it, VR gaming is one thing you must experience to grasp its full impact.
If I could convince you to play or if you are another fellow VR gamer, I prepared a list of 7 PlayStation games I recommend.
Table of Contents
1. Resident Evil 4 Remake
My Rating: 4 / 5
Genre: Survival horror
Resident Evil 4 translates seamlessly to VR, an impressive fit considering its original third-person format. Experiencing it for the first time in VR, especially the boss fights, I truly enjoyed it. VR enhances the sense of scale, and facing off against some enemies is terrifying. It includes elements of horror and action, with intense gameplay and adrenaline-pumping moments.
If you have a PSVR2 and haven’t tried this game, it’s just the right time.

3. Synapse
My Rating: 3.5 / 5
Genre: Action
I’ve finished Synapse recently, and I must say this standout PSVR2 exclusive is really an excellent game. You should buy it or at least wishlist the game.
Synapse is built on Fracked’s arena shooter mechanics, adding an excellent roguelike system. While short at 3 hours on standard difficulty, higher levels promise more challenge and over 8 hours for a Platinum. It’s worth every minute!

4. Beat Saber
My Rating: 3.7 / 5
Genre: Rhythm
Below are reasons why I added Beat Saber to my list of must-play VR games:
- It’s intuitive; even non-gamers grasp it instantly – you just slice cubes with a glowing stick, replicating real-life movements.
- Cutting cubes provides immediate visual, auditory, and tactile feedback, triggering an instant endorphin rush. You know if you’ve succeeded right away.
- High contrast, vibrant colors, and immersive resolution/frame rates make its design simple yet captivating.
- Music aids in learning cube patterns and adds stimulation, making it accessible to non-gamers who may recognize the songs.
- The game offers scalable difficulty levels, catering to beginners and expert players alike, allowing adjustments to match your skill level.
- It’s a great, satisfactory workout.

This game is fantastic if you want to have a fun workout or compete with your kids! It makes you sweat, and I believe me when I say you can’t help but dance the whole time while playing it. The music is killer, and the visuals and the rhythm are top-notch. So, if you want to exercise but don’t feel motivated, this game is great for you.

6. Until You Fall
My Rating: 4.1 / 5
Genre: Hack-and-slash roguelike
Until You Fall stands out as a premier VR roguelike, boasting highly engaging and addictive gameplay. I purchased the game a few years ago and still frequently return to it. It’s remarkable how the gameplay hours in Until You Fall rival those in my Steam library, with over 150+ hours invested.
The stunning visuals and sounds, and the variety of weapon builds and combos make it a must-have for fans of fighting games!
Below are some tips worth checking:
- Upgrade the soul fire ability for more power during runs; it becomes much stronger at level two.
- Use Stasis Strike to isolate you and your enemy, prevent a fatal attack, or create breathing room while surrounded.
- Look out for Arcane and Stalwart traits; Arcane doubles the weapon ability generation, while Stalwart grants +2 hearts per socket.
7. Walkabout Mini Golf
My Rating: 4.3 / 5
Genre: Casual, sports
Though I’m not particularly a mini-golf fan (honestly, I’m not a golf fan at all), the game proved surprisingly enjoyable. Its tranquil world design and smooth mechanics offer a relaxing virtual escape, akin to the satisfaction of hiking or going to the mountains.
It’s a relaxing yet exciting game to play with friends and family, offering ample replay value. I would note that DLC levels are notably superior to the original ones, so I advise you to opt for the full pack.
Here are some tips for this game:
- You can play the front 9, back 9, or full 18 holes on all courses, with separate high scores tracked for each.
- On each Hard course, you can unlock a themed putter via a ‘foxhunt’, a clue-driven journey leading to hidden corners beyond the typical 18 holes.
- Press ‘X’ anytime for an aerial view scorecard.
- Resume or reset ball hunts and foxhunts anytime; progress persists across visits, allowing multiple runs on the course.
- Consulting the map screen aids foxhunts; swiftly navigate to any hole by pointing at the number.
