10 Pick Up and Play Games With Short Play Time

Do you enjoy playing games, but are tired after a full day at work, and don’t want to spend even more time in front of a computer screen at home? How do you relax? Pick up and play short video games. These games are fun, mindless, and (bonus!) don’t require any reading or thinking!

Table of Contents

Abzu

The video game “Abzu” (2016) is ideal for the hot weather as a digital cool-down since it captivates you in the ruins of a long-gone civilization and its treasures in an almost infinitely deep ocean. The game is about 2 hours in length.

However, because the underwater ruins are home to several fish species and deep-sea creatures, amateur archaeologists are just some of the ones who benefit from this. They occasionally approach the ruined divers more and occasionally less dangerously. Abzu is an enjoyable excursion to unwind; it seldom becomes very busy or dangerous.

Good to play because Abzu gives all a researcher might want, especially in the summer, and guarantees at least a mental cool-down. Beautiful coral reefs, a deep blue ocean, and fascinating ruins are only a few of the highlights.

A Short Hike

The walk-in “A Short Hike” (2019) is emotional, relaxed, and endearing: as little ravens, we set off on a hike through a friendly, invitingly colorful world. Sooner or later, the voyage will arrive at its destination. However, it is up to the players to decide how long that should take and which route is pursued. But generally, it takes one or two hours to finish the game.

And a short detour may be beneficial because other hikers are willing to share their experiences and allow the gamers to complete quick missions. Walking has rarely been more lovely and soothing in the real world or on-screen.

“A Short Hike” wants very little but gives a lot. At any speed, you may complete the game’s goal. So everyone writes their own story in this wonderfully colorful world.

Superhot

Not only is it far superior to the film on which it is based, but it may also be one of the finest movie-based games ever made. The first mature take on Logan outside of the comics, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an R-rated movie that doesn’t shy away from Logan’s ability to kill his enemies.

The furious gameplay is disguised in simplicity, not to mention cruelty during brilliantly designed boss fights, so the game was more than just gore and guts. Hugh Jackman lends his slightly raw tones to the process, and the well-told narrative contains complete voice acting for practically the whole cast of the picture. Unfortunately, the infamous portrayal of Deadpool in the movie also appears in the game, so it’s not that simple.

Play on: PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii

Firewatch

Firewatch tells a great story in a spectacular art style, with bright orange and blue tones and steady, slow pacing that suits the story. The time constraints for selecting dialogue replies are the most challenging part of the game’s beginning, but you have plenty of time to decide. Although you may travel wherever in the game, it promotes linear exploration.

Anyway, most of the time, we were interested in the story and chose to stick with it rather than venture out alone. There are usually no time limits, although this starts to alter near the end of the game. That didn’t change anything for us; we still liked returning to the watchtower. However, you need 4 hours to finish the game.

Dreams

Dreams is a stunning and inviting PS4 creative suite developed by the LittleBigPlanet team that enables you to create and share anything with the world, including music, short films, games, and other things. Platforming, puzzle games, and thrilling first-person adventures are all available in Dreams for casual players to enjoy.

You may spend hours making the sculpture, movie, or game of your dreams if you take the time to learn how to use the creation tools. No matter how you choose to play Dreams, the game’s adorable graphics, calming soundtrack, clear instructions, and warm narration create a welcoming atmosphere that will make you feel good about yourself. You need 2-3 hours to complete the game.

theHunter: Call of the Wild

The Hunter is a game where you spend a long time slowly stalking animals in the wild, so it’s good that the natural environments are so beautiful. The forests, in particular, are beautiful, with dense foliage, natural lighting, and ambient sounds that genuinely take you to the great outdoors.

The hunt is enjoyable and has a complex scoring system, but people sometimes ignore it in favor of taking a peaceful walk through the woods. You can have a breathtaking experience for about 24 for the main story.

Stardew Valley

While many seek a mental escape in chilled games, Stardew Valley begins with a literal one. Your grandfather’s property on Stardew Valley’s rural south shore is your ticket to the big metropolis if you play as a burn-out city worker. You still have much work to do even if you’ve left your gray, boring workplace.

As you arrive in the rolling hills of your new home, you’ll find that your grandfather’s old farm estate has seen better days. It’s a place that Stardew Valley real estate agents would gently characterize as “up and coming,” with wood strewn around and weeds stubbornly anchored in the ground. The rest is up to you; you can start dating everyone in the valley, take up fishing, or whatever you want.

Whether Stardew Valley is realistic or not, it’s one of the best RPG games for green fingers who want to indulge in the fantasy of escaping the urban rat race. Because of this, Stardew Valley is one of the finest relaxing games to play in the evenings and on the weekends. You have 52 hours to enjoy the game fully.

Donut County

In “Donut County,” players become the ever-expanding hole that eats the globe. That is the gaming concept around which a thrilling story is built. The primary role has a hole in it that moves through the crowded environment and eats anything that fits.

The unique technique is that the hole becomes bigger as more things are pulled into it. At first, a wooden chair can about get through, but as the story unfolds, neither skyscrapers nor trucks can escape the enormous hole.

This game is worth playing due to the lovely pastel colors, the welcoming gaming environment, and the excellent plot. The gamers that gradually turn this paradise into a hole are located right in the center. Thanks to the great implementation, this is a lot of fun, even for a few minutes.

Unravel 1 & 2

It is surprising how the Unravel series manages to stay so underrated. While a game that perfectly links classic and modern genres is being ignored, people wait for brand-new platformers.

Unravel is the perfect Sunday video game, something to come to occasionally and exit with a smile on your face thanks to its stunning aesthetics (really, those sparkling waters). The more you go into it, the more you realize that it’s all about family and the past. All you need is 6 hours to complete the game.

Journey

Discover more about you, your place, and your purpose for being here as you start a lonely journey over miles of the hot desert. You could run into another player and be able to accept and provide help from strangers. This journey through a forgotten land, praised for its stunning graphics, captivating music, and distinctive gameplay, helps you escape everyday life’s pressures for about 2 hours. It’s as good as a road trip across the country.

Conclusion

Playing games is a stress reliever and a great way to unwind. It may seem like a simple concept, but think about it. When you are playing, your focus is on the game and nothing else. You become engrossed in the game. It relieves your stress and allows you to be in the moment.
